27 week pregnancy update

Well, today I am 27 weeks pregnant. Everything after this is "new." McKenzie was born at 27 weeks.

Today I had 2 dr. appointments. The first was at the perinatologist (high risk). They did an ultrasound and everything looks great. Fluid level is good, blood flow is good, growth is good. They are estimating him to be about 2 pounds 4 ounces and he is head down for now at least. I will go back in 4 weeks for another ultrasound.

Waving in this one

This afternoon I went to my OB appointment. I gained a few more pounds, so I am up to 11 total with this pregnancy. My blood pressure continues to be really good and I am also checking it at home every couple days and keeping track. Tomorrow I will be doing the 1 hour glucose test. I will go back for another appointment in 2 weeks. Starting in June (at 32 weeks) I will be having weekly NST's (non-stress tests) to make sure everything is still going well also.

That's about all for now - thanks to everyone for your continued prayers for a healthy, full-term, take-home baby!

26 weeks

Last night was 26 weeks! Everything still going smoothly. We were taking my weekly pictures when we decided to do a few with McKenzie. (She was trying on a new shirt, that's why the tag is still on it) What a sweetie! Can't wait to see what pregnancy pictures my sister takes of me in about a month.

Happy Easter!

McKenzie opened 1 egg in her basket before church this morning. The Easter Bunny had brought her a new bracelet.

This is her usual "cheese" smile. (One day I'm sure she'll hate all these pictures, but that is how she insists on smiling.)

After church we hunted for the eggs the bunny left.

Then we went inside and opened all the eggs.

Then she opened the rest of the things the Easter Bunny brought in her basket.

Finally we went outside to take some pictures by the pretty flowers.

Baby update

Here is the latest ultrasound picture I have.

It was taken on March 31 at 23 weeks 5 days. Everything looks good. He's been moving around and kicking a lot, but he is facing in towards my body so he is usually kicking other organs and things inside instead of my belly!

Here's the latest belly shot too - I know some people have been asking for this. It was taken April 9th - 24 weeks - viablility (yeah!). I have my next appointment on April 30th when I will be 27 weeks (gestational age when McKenzie was born). I am confident that I will make it much further this time, hopefully at least to July 9th which would be full term (37 weeks).

Great Grandma's Sugar Cookies

Aunt Marcia, Uncle Chris, Mommy, and McKenzie had fun making Great Grandma's sugar cookies.
Uncle Chris showed McKenzie how to "have fun" with the flour (which she kept calling sugar..."more sugar please")

Being caught in the act - licking her fingers

This is good icing!

Adding sprinkles

Yummy cookies!

Dying Eggs

Ready to dye eggs for the first time - 2 years old.

A great shot of the egg splashing in the dye and McKenzie closing her eyes so she wouldn't get splashed.

Trying to get the egg out

This may be easier with my fingers

Pretty fingers

Smiling for the camera - CHEESE!

Not too happy when we were done

Grandma and Grandpa

Just some pictures from the last few weeks.
With Grandpa and her pigtails...

McKenzie's New Bed

McKenzie is now sleeping in her big girl bed! She wanted a "pony" bed, but I couldn't find any pony or horse things for a toddler bed so I bought pink and brown and her Pinkie Pie pony sits at the foot of her bed. Here she is climbing in for the first time.

Here she is asleep the first night.

The second night I went up to check on her when I went to bed and this is what I saw...

she was sleeping standing up and laying her head on the bed. Since it was so dark, the flash from the camera kind of woke her up. I left the room so she wouldn't see me and when I came back a minute later...

she had just crawled right back up in bed! What a sweetie!
