Michael eating

Michael pigging out on people food at the Olive Garden. He loves chicken strips...and a bunch of other stuff...cheerios, bagels, peas, potatoes, watermelon, pretty much anything I give him! Here he was 8 1/2 months old and had 6 teeth. Now at just over 9 months he has 7 teeth! Crazy because McKenzie didn't get her first until 13 months!

San Antonio Zoo

Well, I haven't figured out how to upload the other ride videos from the Strawberry Festival yet. I feel like it would be really easy, but for some reason I haven't figured it out. They were taken with Mike's phone so that is why I'm not sure how to upload them to the blog. I'll keep trying and maybe eventually I'll get it.

The last 10 days or so have been very busy! Mike's parents flew in from Florida on the 16th. Poppa was here until the 20th, and Mom-Mom stayed until the 27th. We had a lot of fun, but the days were very busy, so I'm finally getting time to upload all the pictures now. And believe me, there are a bunch!

We were supposed to go to the Oyster Bake on the 17th for Fiesta, but it was pouring down rain! Then McKenzie got sick. She was so pathetic, throwing up, laying around on the couch and floor, and sleeping ALL day. Luckily it only lasted about 24 hours and she was feeling better.

So, on Monday the 19th, we went to the San Antonio Zoo. This was Michael and Daddy's first time at the SA zoo.

First animal...a jaguar.

Then the hippos! I love this exhibit because you can get so close to them!
Poppa taking a closer look.

Michael checking him out too!

We didn't even realize there were 2 of them here until the one started to move away!

Michael enjoyed looking in at the fish too.

McKenzie was excited to see the elephant

Then we saw the giraffe (it's a shame they only had one giraffe, and one elephant) and the rhinos (they had a bunch of them) and the cheetah.

Then we fed the Lorys! They attacked Mike when we went in.

McKenzie helping feed them.

I think this one was checking out the camera.

Mom-Mom and Daddy feeding them.

Mom-Mom has 3 of them!

This one was trying to eat Mom-Mom's shiny earrings!

Michael and Mom-Mom enjoying the zoo.

McKenzie holding her first caterpillar that Mommy found on a sign.

McKenzie "talking" with the crane.

Mom-Mom and Poppa with their grandchildren (McKenzie,3 & Michael, 8mo.)

Our family at the zoo

Michael snuggling up to Poppa before he took a nap.

Mom-Mom and McKenzie on the lillypads at the children's zoo.

Eww! Touching the milipede!

Crawling around in the children's zoo.

Hmm, this says she is 3 feet tall! I guess I'll have to measure her to see if she really grew that much! You can barely see her look out of the bubble at the praire dogs.

Fishing at the zoo.

She caught one!

Sitting on the little bench with her baby brother.

We had a lot of fun watching this mommy and baby monkey! He was so cute!

Well, I told you there were a lot of pictures! And that was just one day and I didn't upload all of them! It took me almost 1.5 hours to upload just this one post! And that is with Michael napping and McKenzie watching Mickey Mouse! So that is why it takes me so long to update the blog! Hope you all enjoy! I'll try to post more from the last week or so of fun!

April 12th

This year I started doing a scrapbook "project" the 12 on the 12th. On the 12th of each month you do a layout using 12 pictures from that day. I have decided to try to do all of them this year digitally, since I haven't done much digital scrapbooking lately. So here are what the first 3 months looked like...

January 12th

February 12th

March 12th

Yesterday we went to Uvalde to visit some old and new friends. We had lunch and visited with our friends Stephanie, Brisa, and Brie and their little ones Jonathan, Brooklyn, Cadence, and Jack. But first, McKenzie started the morning off like this...

She is obsessed with these princess books! Everyday, at least once, sometimes 3 times, I pick up these books from the couch or toy room, or her bedroom and put them away. And somehow, she always ends up going back and getting them out. She likes to "read" all the stories and a lot of times she reads them out loud. It's so cute to hear her retell the stories.

Michael and McKenzie playing while I was getting ready to leave... he's getting close to being as big as she is! By the way, she has been eating dinner very well lately and always saying "I'm getting bigger" when she eats all her food. I told her when she gets bigger the scale will say "23" instead of "22." So she wanted to get on the scale, and tonight it said "23.5" with just a t-shirt and panties on her. Yay! I think she's finally 23 pounds!

When we left we saw these cows in the bluebonnets sitting across from our development, so I snapped a picture of them.

I'm trying to take more creative photos, from different angles, so I stopped and took this picture to show our hour drive to our friends house. Michael took a nap and McKenzie watched "Alice in Wonderland."

Here are McKenzie and her new friend Cadence eating lunch. Cadence is 9 months exactly younger than McKenzie.

Here are the babies - Jack is Cadence's brother and he was the oldest baby at 10 months, then Michael at 8 months, Jonathan just turned 3 months, and Brooklyn is 7 weeks.

After dinner, they took a bath. Michael loves his ducky bath!

And boy does he love to splash!

I know that wasn't 12 pictures, but I do have more, once I get a chance to do the layout I'll try to remember to upload it so you can see how it turned out! Wonder what we'll be doing May 12th??

Poteet Strawberry Festival

Yesterday we went to the Poteet Strawberry Festival. It was a lot of fun. There was tons of food, carnival rides, vendors, little shows, and everything strawberry!

McKenzie wore her strawberry dress

Michael wore his cowboy hat

Watching the baby pigs

Then Michael took a little nap

McKenzie enjoyed a strawberry cookie

and chocolate covered strawberries

Then she rode on some of the carnival rides. We weren't sure how she would like them because sometimes she's not too sure once it starts. As you can see... she liked these!

I have a few more video clips I'll try to upload tomorrow that Mike took with his phone.
We plan on going back next year if anyone wants to come visit and go with us :)
