School Rodeo Day

McKenzie's school had a cute Rodeo Day last week. They all got to dress up in cowboy/cowgirl wear and bring their favorite farm animal to show at the "Stock Show." McKenzie wanted to take her horse that she has been sleeping with lately (among other animals in her bed). Now, though McKenzie's bedroom is pink and brown ponies (you can see the pictures by clicking here) she doesn't have a cowboy hat or boots that fit her. She does have a horse dress, so she wore that and the Cowgirl vest that my mom made her in 2008 still fits her so she wore it too. I tried to braid her hair into pigtails and this is as good as I could get it!

At school, they called each animal and the children got to walk their animals around while everyone sang "Old MacDonald" for their animal. It was cute and of course the kids had fun!
Then the animals got a ribbon.
McKenzie and her horse. She borrowed this hat from the dress up center.
All the horses lined up.
There were the most horses, but also cows, sheep, pigs, chickens, ducks, and mice.
Here they are doing a little dance. Afterwards we went to her classroom and they had a hot dog lunch.
